ReDi is both happy and sad to announce that our board member Prof. Dr. Beate Hofmann is leaving the executive board of the association representing the Institute for Diaconic Science and Management (IDM), Germany. She has recently been elected to become the first female Bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (Germany).
The executive board of ReDi would like to express their wholehearted gratitude to Prof. Hofmann for being a passionate and active board member of the association especially for her dedication and support during process of the transition of ReDi from Finland to Belgium; but also throughout many years for being an active member of the association. For her new and exciting next step in life, the executive board wishes Beate all the best and God’s blessing.
At the same time we welcome her successor to represent the IDM on the board: Dr. Dennis Solon (Dr. theol., Heidelberg) is visiting professor for biblical studies (New Testament) at the Institute for Diaconic Science and Diaconic Management (IDM) of the Protestant University Wuppertal/Bethel. An ordained minister of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, he is presently interested in investigating the ethical and socio-political aspects of the New Testament texts and their relationship to the early Christian social practice.
